KENYUKAI COMPETITION; SUNDAY 27TH SEPTEMBER, MANCHESTER.

This was the last squad competion of 2009. The coaches for the day were; John Tumman, Dave Holmes, Craig Burke, Tim Shirt,

Terry Everson, Phil Moody, Matt Handley. Thanks Guys!

 

Over the 9 month period the squad and coaches have attended 7 big competition;

AMA international, English Senior and Junior, EKF Midland, Cumbrian, South Yorkshire open, British, Kenyu Kai comp.

 

GOLDS; 51, SILVER; 48, BRONZE; 107, TOTAL; 206.

A Fantastic achievement everyone!

Other competition have been attended but these were club competitiona and our own Shindo kai competitions, these do not count towards an ELITE badge. Only ELITE competitions count, and where the whole squad attends.

COACHES JOHN & DAVE CALL IT A DAY!

For 5 years now Sensei John & Dave have been the Junior Squad coaches. This competition was our last coaching the squad. We have enjoyed every competition up & down the land, every medal a squad member has won, comforted the kids when they have lost, sorted out organisers who miss names off entries, argued with parents who say their kids should be in a better teams!!. But we don't want to hang on too long and we think the time is right to step down and let another team take care of the squad. Can I thank Dave who's been up and down the country with myself missed his own son callum fighting on many occasions and has been true servant to the squad, thank you David!

I would also like to thank all the squad members & parents who have helped us and made our jobs easier by trusting our judgement and being professional with getting entry info and fees back to your instructors on time so I could sort out the paper work. Its been great fun with the squad and once again can I thank you all for your support over the years, OSU!

10.30 - 11.55 am; Kumite (fighting) course both Elite and open to all students with license books.

10.30 - 11.55 am; Referees, Judges and beginners course. (Free)

12.00 - 1.30 pm; Kata course. learn your next grading kata or competition kata with sensei Alex.

1.30 - 3.30 pm Dan Grading. (closed to candidates and family)

 

• All students who are Dan grading must train on either the Kumite or Kata course, this is part of your Dan grading.
• Everyone who goes for Dan grading MUST fill in the Dan grade application form and get it back to me before SUNDAY 11TH OCTOBER. I need to book hall time, order black belts and cert and organise the hall space.
• ALL CANDIDATES MUST FILL IN THE BACK OF THEIR LICENSE BOOKS WITH EVENTS YOU HAVE ATTENDED WHILE BEING IN SHINDO KAI, THIS SHOW COMMITMENT TO THE ASSOCIATION, YOUR CLUB AND INSTRUCTOR.
• ALL BOOKS WILL BE CHECKED BY SENSEI GED TUMMAN. OSU!

2.00 PM - 3.30 PM; BROWN & BLACK BELTS.

COST £5 PER PERSON 1 1/2 HOUR COURSE.

        Sensei Alex (our Kata coach) has been picked to represent England in the team kata event at the Junior World championships in Morocco. He must find £650.00 for his flight and hotel. He is putting on a general karate course to improve any karate-ka's skills all money raised will go towards his expenses, both traditional and sport karate students will find the course interesting. If you would like to attend the course and support Alex in raising funds the course details are above. the raffle is being drawn this Wednesday. 50p a ticket. sensei John & Alex.

SENSEI CRAIG BURKE GETS PICK TO FIGHT IN TENERIFE;

Hereby we are pleased to invite your Federation to the “XII COPA DE ESPAÑA” whichwill be held next 28rd November 2009 in Tenerife (Canary Islands) in the sports hall“Pabellón Municipal de los Deportes de Santa Cruz de Tenerife”.

The athletes chosen by the National Coach are:Craig Burke, Alice Goudie, Rachel Newey, Reece Taylor

 

WE HAVE YET ANOTHER COMPETITOR COMPETING ABROAD, AS USUAL THEY HAVE TO FIND SO FUNDS. SENSEI CRAIG WILL BE PUTTING ON SOME FIGHTING COURSES TO RAISE MONEY. TRACK SUIT CHANGE;

The Shindo Kai squad track suit has changed design. They were discontinuing the style and sizes were already out of stock, so with Christmas a coming I have got a new design. Very similar to the old one, same colours. Have put the printing on the back to a darker colour as well so it shows up more

SUMMER COURSE 2010;

The 21st Summer training course for 2010 will be on the following dates next year;
