All club instructors are expected to attend and help run the courses, if you cant attend can you drop me an e mail please so I can organise things. Thanks. Please arrive 10 minutes B4 the courses start so you can book in.

• 10.30 AM - 12.00 PM OFFICIALS COURSE FOR BEGINNERS FREE (QUALIFIED JUDGES AND REFEREES HAVE NO NEED TO ATTEND)
• 10.30 AM - 12.00 PM KUMITE (FIGHTING) COURSE. (Train with the squad coaches and gain more fighting experience)
• 12.00PM - 1.30 PM KATA COURSE. (learn your next grading kata or a competition Kata) WELL WORTH ATTENDING!!!!
• COST; £4 X 1 / £7 X 2 / £10 X 3 / £12 X 4 (FAMILY RATES)
• TO DO BOTH KUMITE AND KATA COURSE IT WILL BE £6.00 PER PERSON.

YOU WILL GET 2 MARKS IN YOUR LICENSE BOOK FOR ATTENDING 2 EVENTS ON THIS COURSE. YOU NEED A PAGE OF EVENTS SIGNED UP IN THE BACK OF YOUR LICENSE BOOK TO ATTEMPT YOUR BLACK BELTS.

KATA COMPETITION

• £5.00 per section
• Equipment needed; Clean white karate suit / Association badge.
• Spectators will pay on the door. £2.00 16 PLUS / £1.00 15 AND BELOW

CUMBRIAN COMPETITION 14TH JUNE; FULL REPORT

Team Shindo kai; Cumbrian Open Karate Championships report.

 

On Sunday 14^th June, team shindo kai took 50 competitors up the long drag to Carlisle In Cumbria. The event was split into two halves. First events were all the under 15 categories. All the juniors competed in the Kata events first, then the Kumite or Fighting events second.

First up were the Kata squad competitors. Ben Wright came away with a Silver and Thomas Wiggan a Bronze, getting the squad off to a good start.

Then it was the fighting event, Danny and Isabel gaunt (brother & Sister) were is the 6-8 categories. Isabel won the girls section and brother Danny won the boy’s section, much to the delight of a proud Mum & Dad, another great start for the squad. Silver and bronze medals followed in other sections but more gold’s just did not happen with many fighters going out in the semi finals. The senior events followed and again lots of bronze medals, no more elusive gold’s. The biggest squads to attend were the Scottish and they came in big numbers with strong fighters, credit were credit is due. Team Shindo kai’s total medal haul was 18 medals.
