SATURDAY 10TH OCTOBER

THE BARNSLEY KARATE CENTRE

12.00 PM - 1.30 PM; BEGINNERS TO PURPLE BELT

2.00 PM - 3.30 PM; BROWN & BLACK BELTS.

COST £5 PER PERSON 1 1/2 HOUR COURSE.

        Sensei Alex (our Kata coach) has been picked to represent England in the team kata event at the Junior World championships in Morocco. He must find £650.00 for his flight and hotel. He is putting on a general karate course to improve any karate-ka's skills all money raised will go towards his expenses, both traditional and sport karate students will find the course interesting. If you would like to attend the course and support Alex in raising funds the course details are above, we are also holding a raffle at the Barnsley Dojo, if my student who are reading this e mail can bring prizes for the raffle and more importantly buy a ticket, 50p each, this money will also go towards his expenses.

SUNDAY OCTOBER 18th DAN GRADING;

EVERYONE WHO IS DAN GRADING MUST FILL IN THE DAN GRADING APPLICATION FORM AND HAND IT TO YOUR CLUB INSTRUCTOR. I NEED TO BOOK THE SPORT CENTRE AND SORT OUT THE SPACE FOR EACH CLUBS DAN GRADING. THANKS

THERE WILL BE WADO BLACK BELT SESSIONS EVERY TUESDAY AT THE BARNSLEY KARATE CENTRE 7.00 - 8.00 PM (£4.00) FOR ANYONE THAT WANTS THAT EXTRA HELP AND DOJO TIME.

PLEASE ASK YOUR INSTRUCTOR IF ITS OK TO ATTEND IF YOU ARE NOT FROM MY DOJO AS THEY MAY BE PUTTING ON EXTRA CLASSES.

CRB & ISA CHECKS

Parents could face a £5,000 fine for driving their children's friends to a sports event or Karate competition.
They face punishment and a criminal record if they have not been vetted first by a massive new government agency.
An astonishing 11.3million people - one adult in four - are likely to come under the watchful eye of the Independent Safeguarding Authority.
Launched next month, it will be the biggest vetting and clearing system in the world.
Every person who comes into regular contact with children or the elderly, through work or volunteering, must be approved by ISA officials checking for criminal convictions, disciplinary action and even unproven allegations.
It goes way beyond the current Criminal Records Bureau system, which covers only 6million people.

It will even apply to parents who, at the request of organisations like junior football teams or the Guides, give their children's friends lifts to or from events.
If they do so without first being vetted by the ISA's 200 staff, they could be fined up to £5,000 and given a criminal record.
The clubs themselves will face a £5,000 fine - potentially enough to ruin them.
