SATURDAY 28TH FEB & SUNDAY 1ST MARCH

COMPETITORS; clean karate gi's, shindo kai badge on gi so coaches can I.D you on a mat if they dont see a badge and dont recognise your face you may not get a coach. Shindo kai track suits as this is a squad event and not a club event. Take in date license books, all protective equipment just in case, food and fluids. IF YOU ARE OVER YOUR WEIGHT YOU COULD BE DISQUALIFIED, SO PLEASE BE PROFESSIONAL THIS WEEK!
COACHES; shindo kai track suit top and track suit bottoms, no jeans, hats etc (remember the coaching course!). Print off the sheet attached so you can monitor the competitors.

Saturday; events will be from 0930hrs in the main hall. The first events will be Team Kata and all Jnr Kata's which will commence at 09.30hrs on all Seven Kata areas, Followed by Snr Kata. The weapons Kata will be the last kata event. The 4 boys & girls categories 10-12yrs & the 9yrs and under kumite events will follow the Kata along with two team events.

Sundays; events will start from 9.30am. Remaining Jnr Team Kumite will start on Seven matted areas at 9-30am, followed by the remaining Jnr Individual Kumite categories. Snr Team Kumite., will follow the remaining Jnr Ind Kumite events from 1100hrs Youths Individual Kumite will commence from 1300hrs, All 18yrs Snr Kumite will commence from 1400hrs.
SHINDO KAI'S OWN CHAMPIONSHIPS. REPORT;
Another great closed competition for Shindo kai students. A special mention to all the students, Parents and Instructors who turned out at 8.00 am to help us set up the competition so we could start on time, it does not go unnoticed! Thanks. Also thanks to everyone who helps make it all come together; The door staff, kitchen staff, table officials, referees and judges, paramedics, organisers and especially the competitors and spectators.
If any club wants to be on the big photo for the barnsley local paper, be at the Barnsley karate centre, this Thursday at 5.45 pm.

We had a few reports on spectators getting carried away shouting for their children, For every child that is on the mat, there is another set of parents for the opposite fighter and they may be seated not to far away from you!. By all mean support your child, but be careful how you put some of your comments across in the heat of the action, tempers flare up at the drop of a heat when it come to children.

The officials had a table put aside for them for refreshments through out the day, tea, coffee, sandwiches, biscuits. the kitchen staff are very busy dealing with spectators and competitors and cannot find the time to make individual sandwiches and fresh coffee and bring it into the hall for officials, please use the table provided between sections to get caffeined up!. thanks.

MINIMUM GRADE IS 3RD KYU (8 YEAR KUMITE & 7 YEARS KATA) Closing date for entries to John tumman 1st march for all names and fees. Most of the detail are on the AMA forms, so should be easier for some to sort out, that why I need all details from students to keep on file, License Numbers ETC

EKF REFEREES & COACHING COURSE MANCHESTER.
13 went on the course and took EKF coaching exam, when the results are set out I will forward them on. I need to know which coach is attending the AMA international this Saturday and Sunday so we have a full coaching staff for the competitors, as I know up to now we have;

KATA COURSE (ENPI)
Sensei Alex had around 16 attend the course, it was nice to see many of the students giving Enpi a go at athersley and many winning with it. next month there is another chance to brush up on the kata, then Sensei Alex will coach another Kata. date will be sent next e mail.
