2011 VENICE CUP RESULTS;
halifax soprt karate club took 3 competitors out to Italy Venice.
laren crawford is keeping her fantastic year going by gaining a Bronze this weekend at venice.
Sensei matt Handley had 70 in his section and managed to get to the last 4, he lost to the winner and gain 4th place.

The closing date for entries is 17th DECEMBER. this is a problem as many clubs shut down for Christmas and re open around 3rd or 4th Jan, so we have to sort the forms BEFORE we break up.
In April the Higher graded English will take place, this will be for 3rd Kyu and above students only, so if you are 3rd kyu to 1st kyu can do both!!
Forms are attached, still waiting on kata rules I dont think they will ask for compulsory kata. low grades I would have thought 1 kata, higher grades alternate 2, but will inform later.
This is an event I asked the board to put on, so I hope we can flood the sections and bring our Kyu grades on and win more English titles. osu!!!

JUNIOR WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS REPORT

Are all returning home from their weekends squad sessions.
sensei paul snapped his achiles Tendon while coaching the squad, but in true warrior fashion he came back from hospital potted up and took the squad through their paces!! osu!!
they all fly off this weeeknd to malaysia and all the Instructors, students and parents wish them and all the england squad all the luck in the world .. ''winner never quit guys!!''
Every club have tried there best to raise as much money as possible for their students;
here is what we did for our students
The students from the Barnsley karate centre have held Raffles, sponsored training sessions, A race night at the Green Dragon Pub in Thurgoland and last Saturday afternoon Callum and Alex’s instructors Sensei John Tumman, along with his 7 year old Grand daughter Morgan Jones who attends Shaw lands school, walked 7 miles from the Barnsley karate center on regent Street south to Thurgoland. John did it in bare feet and karate suit. Around 20 students did the first mile of the walk to Locke park many also in bare feet, then John & Morgan carried on the 7 mile walk.
The hardest section was Stainborough Lowe hill a 1 mile climb like everest, Morgan walked on the pavement put John had to walk in the gutter of the road or when there was the luxury of painted yellow lines it was heaven to walk on!. Half way through the walk john stepped on a dead rat in the gutter, john had to wipe his foot in some grass and remove the rat fur from between his toes.
The last mile was very difficult, John started doing 20 minute miles, the last mile took his 45 mins, cut and sore feet they both walked into the Green dragon pub after 3 hours and 20 mins on the road, where a pint of cheery pop was waiting for Morgan and a pint of Guinness for John. The total amount raised from the events was £1,735

We Were Planning On Holding Our 25th Summer Course Abroad, But After Lengthy Talks And Meetings With Travel Agents, Getting So Many People Abroad And In A School Holiday In Easter Or October At A Good Price Is Proving A Massive Operation & One That We Think Many Could Not Afford. So We Have Decided To Keep To Primrose Valley But Make The Weekend A More Party Theme Event. We Will Have The Training Later In The Day For Recovery!!!, A Optional Fancy Dress BBQ Evening On The Football Pitch Following into Saturday Evening in the Club, A More Fun Chilled Out Weekend.
I Am Letting Everyone Know Well Early Then Other Main Holidays Can Be Booked If You Were Hanging On For The Abroad Summer Course.
I Understand That This Will Not Suit Everyone, But We Feel More People Will Be Able To Attend And Afford The Weekend.
